Nkuringo Sector

Perched high on the southern edge of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, the Nkuringo Sector is one of Uganda's most breathtaking gorilla trekking destinations. The name Nkuringo comes from a Rukiga word meaning "round hill," a fitting description for this spectacular landscape of rolling mountains, mist-covered forests, and panoramic valleys stretching toward the Virunga Volcanoes. Unlike some of the busier gorilla trekking sectors, Nkuringo offers visitors a quieter, more exclusive experience where every step feels like an adventure into one of Africa's last remaining primeval forests.
